Kyoto is one of the world’s leading international tourist destinations, a city where tradition and innovation coexist, and a gathering point for people from a wide range of countries and regions. These characteristics make Kyoto a uniquely valuable setting for students to develop their understanding of Japanese culture. Kyoto Seika University also operates the Kyoto International Manga Museum, a global manga research facility and an unparalleled resource for manga-related studies that is free for our students.
In order to strengthen their ability to communicate with a wide audience, Japanese Studies Course students focus not only on their English ability, but also on improving their Japanese language skills. Through the Field Work program, students are able to base their studies in domestic or global contexts, conducting surveys and engaging with local populations. Transform what you love into something that contributes to society, and forge international connections between Japan and the rest of the world through culture.
